Which Park Güell Ticket Rate Applies to You

The general Park Güell ticket price is 18,00 EUR for an adult, VAT included, and that is one of nine separate rate categories the booking page never walks you through. The entry fee drops to 13,50 EUR for children aged 7 to 12 and for over-65s, to 14,50 EUR if you already hold a Barcelona History Museum or Ruta del Modernisme ticket, and to nothing at all for under-7s, Targeta Rosa holders and visitors with disabilities. Most people pay general admission on autopilot without checking which of the nine is theirs.

It is worth two minutes. A family of four with a five-year-old and a nine-year-old pays 49,50 EUR booked correctly. On autopilot they pay 72,00.

If you have seen 13 EUR quoted as the adult rate, that number is years out of date and still sitting on at least one well-ranked guide.

All prices include 21% VAT. The park is operated by Barcelona de Serveis Municipals, a municipal company, so these are statutory public rates rather than a reseller display price.

The MUHBA line is the one people miss. With a Barcelona History Museum ticket or a Ruta del Modernisme pass in hand you pay 14,50 EUR instead of 18,00. It saves 3,50 EUR a head and it appears on no other English-language guide we checked.

Planning on the official guided tour? Its fee is charged on top of whichever rate above applies to you, not instead of it. The real total and the reason most guides get it wrong are on the tours page.

Proving you qualify for a reduced Park Güell entry fee

A reduced rate is only yours if you can evidence it at the right moment, and the right moment is earlier than people assume.

You need the document at the point of purchase. The operator's wording is that you must present documentation showing entitlement when buying - not at the gate afterwards. A senior rate booked without the card details to hand can come apart later.

Discounts do not stack. One reduction per ticket, whichever applies. A 66-year-old holding a Ruta del Modernisme pass picks one rate, not both.

Tickets are nominal and non-transferable. Each one carries a name, so buying a spare to hand to a friend is not how the system is built to work.

Seven tickets maximum per transaction. A family of nine or a school group splits across bookings, and separate bookings can land in different time slots.

💡 Pro Tip
Groups of eight or more: check the slot before you start
With eight or more people, open the booking page and confirm availability for your target slot before you begin the first transaction. Slots fill while you are typing card details, and the second half of your group landing 90 minutes later is a genuinely annoying way to lose an afternoon.

Park Güell plus Gaudí House Museum ticket price

The combined park-and-museum ticket is 24,00 EUR for an adult, not the 28 EUR figure circulating online. The reduced rate is 19,50 EUR, covering children 7 to 12, over-65s with Targeta Rosa Reduïda, and disabled visitors with a companion. Under-7s are free.

Holders of Targeta Rosa Gratuïta, Registre Gaudir Més or a residents' card pay 6,00 EUR. Both figures come from the operator and from the Ajuntament de Barcelona city guide.

One scheduling catch: the museum runs its own separate timed slot, so the two tickets are not interchangeable in time. How to sequence them is covered under how long to spend.

Totalling the Park Güell admission fee for a family or group

Worked examples, standard entry, no add-ons.

  • Couple, both adults - 36,00 EUR
  • Family of four, two adults plus children aged 5 and 9 - 18,00 + 18,00 + 0,00 + 13,50 = 49,50 EUR. The five-year-old still needs a ticket issued, at zero cost.
  • Two visitors over 65 - 27,00 EUR, with cards shown at purchase
  • Couple adding the museum - 48,00 EUR
  • Two adults with a MUHBA ticket each - 29,00 EUR

Where visitors overpay for Park Güell entry

Not issuing a ticket for a toddler. Under-6s are free but still need a named ticket. No ticket, no entry.

Booking the general rate on autopilot. Four of the nine categories are cheaper than 18,00 EUR and one of them is a museum ticket you may already hold.

Assuming a tour fee covers entry. It does not, and that is the most expensive misreading on this site.

Once you know your rate, decide which slot to book, or check whether you need a ticket at all.

All rates verified against the operator's prices page on parkguell.barcelona and guia.barcelona.cat in periodic checks. Reviewed periodically. Prices change - confirm on the operator's site before paying.
